Doorbell Repair – When Someone Rings the Doorbell, but No One Hears It
A malfunctioning intercom affects the entire building. Packages aren’t delivered, and guests call on their cell phones from the street. We repair intercoms in houses, apartment buildings, and multi-unit buildings in Copenhagen, and we also service systems that we didn’t install ourselves.
Common problems that require doorphone repair
No sound or poor sound quality
This is often caused by a defective speaker in the intercom panel or in the receiver unit. If only one apartment has poor reception, the problem is typically with that specific unit. If the entire building is affected, we’ll check the intercom panel and the power supply.
The door doesn't open when you press it
In this case, it’s rarely the intercom itself, but rather the door opener it controls. We check both the signal from the system and the door’s mechanical components.
Call buttons are not responding
Moisture and wear and tear are the most common causes, especially in displays that are left uncovered. Often, individual buttons can be replaced.
The video image is black or flickering
The camera or the wiring may be damaged. In wireless systems, this is more often due to a weak signal.
The call isn't coming through on my cell phone
With app-based systems, the problem is often with the connection or the app's settings rather than the hardware itself. We'll go over the setup and measure the signal at the door.
Replacement parts or a new system?
Many intercom systems in Copenhagen buildings are so old that the manufacturer has stopped producing parts for them. That doesn’t mean the system needs to be replaced tomorrow. But it does mean that the next malfunction could be the one that can’t be repaired. We’ll let you know the condition of your system so the board can plan for a replacement rather than being forced into one.
You can check this yourself before repairing the doorphone
Before you call, there are two things worth checking. See if the problem is only happening at your place or for everyone in the building—ask a neighbor. If it’s an app-based system, check to see if the app is up to date and if your phone is connected. If that doesn’t solve the problem, don’t try to tinker with the system. The voltage in the electrical panel and improper reassembly can turn a minor glitch into a costly problem.
Here's how we handle doorphone repairs
Any doorphone repair begins with on-site troubleshooting. The technician will tell you what’s wrong and how much it will cost to fix before the work begins. If the system is so old that replacement parts are hard to come by, we’ll tell you straight up. That way, you’ll have a clear picture of when a repair still makes sense and when a replacement is the more cost-effective option in the long run. If it’s time for a new system, read more about doorphone installation in Copenhagen.
We work with all major brands, including Siedle, Scantron, Videx, and WelcomeBob.
Avoid emergency repairs to your doorphone with a service contract
For a housing association, the most costly aspect of a malfunctioning intercom is often the wait time. With a service agreement, inspections and repairs are arranged in advance, and we’re already familiar with the system when we arrive.
