Burglar protection for your home – keep thieves away with burglar protection

Over 29,000 burglaries are committed in Denmark annually.

Typically, the thief enters:

  • by breaking windows (approx. 20%).
  • through windows that are removed by removing moldings (approx. 16%).
  • through broken windows (approx. 10%).
  • through patio doors (approx. 15%).
  • through front doors (approx. 7%).
  • through basement doors (approx. 6%).

With so many burglaries in Denmark, it is important that you do what you can to prevent burglaries in your home.

For this purpose, there are both mechanical and electronic theft and burglary protection systems. These include locks , window locks , grilles and video surveillance.

Many Danish homes are equipped with insecure locks. Insecure locks are characterized by the key having a round head and the cylinder having five pins. Our locksmith first and foremost recommends replacing this with a more secure lock, e.g. a D1200.

In addition, our locksmith always recommends installing two locks per door, but even if you have secured your doors, there is still a chance of burglary if windows or patio doors are not properly secured.

There are many steps you can take to make your home burglar-proof. Our locksmiths are professional security experts who can quickly identify the risks in your home.

Burglary protection of doors

You can secure your doors against theft and burglary with, among other things, security strikes, steel frames and extra locks. At KEYPARTNER, we always recommend installing security strikes on existing lock installations. This type of burglary protection significantly increases the security against break-ins. Many doors have one or more windows, and therefore the lock should be equipped with a cylinder on the inside. This makes it impossible for a thief to stick his hand in through a broken window and open the lock or climb in through a broken window and thereby open a door from the inside that is not secured. This type of burglary protection also has a preventive effect, as the thief can see through the windows that the escape routes are blocked.

Burglary protection for patio doors

Burglary protection of patio doors

Patio doors are a very vulnerable entry point for burglars. They can gain access by drilling a hole under the handle, which gives them easy access to your home.

You can secure your patio door against burglary by upgrading your patio door with two important measures. You can (1) replace the existing handle with a model that has either a cylinder for key use or a code keypad. At the same time, (2) an external break-proof security rail should be installed, which prevents the thief from getting tools in and breaking open the door.

Anti-theft protection for window locks

Window burglary protection

You can prevent the thief from getting anything out of breaking the window by installing a lock on your window. That way, the burglar will not get anything out of opening the window latches, as the window lock will still keep the window closed. That way, you keep the thief out even if they break a window. Some window locks are available with a combination lock, so you don't need a key. In terms of burglar-proofing window locks, you can also use preventive solutions such as alarms and video surveillance. If you want to increase security even further, it is a good idea to have an alarm or video surveillance installed.
