The study is based on statistics from all the door openings we have performed for households in Copenhagen since we founded KEYPARTNER in 2015. We have based our findings on which of Copenhagen's districts residents most often lock themselves out of, relative to the total number of households. This gives us what we call the districts' "lockout rate."
The study illustrates that the top 9 lockout rates for all of Copenhagen's districts are as follows:
People most forgetful in the inner city and the bridge districts
The statistics show a clear trend: it is in the inner city, i.e. Copenhagen K, and the bridge districts, that residents most often lock themselves out – because they either forget or lose their keys. In fact, residents in the inner city lock themselves out four times more often than residents in Brønshøj-Husum. It is difficult to determine whether there are specific demographic factors behind these figures, as what causes people to forget or lose their keys is highly individual and random.
One thing is certain: with a "locked out" rate of 5.8, residents in the inner city will soon have to get better at keeping their keys on them if they do not want to be "locked in" as number one on this unfortunate list.
